The Invasion of Zombadings

I watched Zombadings 1: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington last September 1, 2011 at Gateway with my mass comm batchmates. This was the closing film of this year's Cinemalaya.
The story starts with a boy named Remington who kept on teasing gay people. Until one day, he and his mom went to the cemetery and Remington was being his usual naughty self when he saw a middle-aged gay. He cursed Remington and said that he will be gay in the future.
When Remington reached his teenage years, he noticed a change in his physical appearance and sexual preference. The town where he lives was disturbed by a killer of gay people through the use of a gaydar. The only thing that Remington can do to get rid of the curse is to find someone who will be willing enough to be gay.
The movie was incredibly funny. I laughed my lungs out during the "hagdan scene". It's an undeniable fact that gays are condemned in the society but this movie speaks for gays' rights in an entertaining and witty way. Also, the movie helped us to appreciate and understand the gay community even more. Now I am patiently waiting for part 2!
